On Thursday, June 23, 2022 our praying mantis eggs finally hatched! The kids helped Mr. Jordan and I find sticks, sand, and things outside to create a habitat for them. Then Mr. Jordan (because Ms. Jessy isn't a big fan of bugs haha) asked the kids if they wanted to hold the praying mantises. Afterwards we released them onto flowers, and into the garden where we still see them all around the yard!
What did your child say would be the first thing they ate if they were a very hungry caterpillar? Check below to see if you were right!
This month was full of bugs! We watched ladybugs, caterpillars, and praying mantises hatch! Here are photos of us with our caterpillars that turned into beautiful butterflies! We read one of my favorite books The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Then we made our own caterpillars using sponges and paint!
I asked all of the kids "What is the first thing you would eat if you were a very hungry caterpillar?" Leave a comment with what you think your child said. I will post the answers later today. (Everyone here last week participated whether they answered out loud or pointed to a picture!) We've been so busy I'm a little late posting all the things we've been up to! First here's our dandelion's and bees we made with forks and our thumbprints earlier this month!
Stay tuned for more! A huge thank you to Zeppelin Cleaning Services for coming out last week and making our air ducts look brand new! Your staff was so friendly and professional! We highly recommend Zeppelin for all of your cleaning needs!
