Last week, Always There Childcare children recognized Fire Prevention Week, October 6-12, 2019 by practicing our monthly fire drill, reading the book Arthur's Fire Drill, and using different shapes to create firetrucks. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) announced "Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape!" as the 2019 Fire Prevention Week Theme. This year's campaign recognizes the everyday people who motivate their households to develop and practice a home fire escape plan; these seemingly basic behaviors can have life-saving impact.
I am proud to say that Always There Childcare's children in care have cut their very first fire drill time by more than half, and all of the children are so great at recognizing what to do immediately when they hear the smoke detector sound. Ms. Jessy is so very proud of them! On Friday, August 16, 2019 I had my family child care home licensing renewal inspection and was found in compliance with the requirements of Act No. 116 of the Public Acts of 1973 as amended and the applicable licensing rules. There were no rule violations.
On this same day, I was determined to be in substantial compliance with applicable licensing statues and rules, and my application was approved to expand my childcare license from a family child care home license (capacity 1-6) to a child care group home (capacity 7-12). On Thursday, September 19, 2019 I was issued my original child care group home license! Please note: My licensing notebook is available for parents to review during regular business hours. Please ask to see it for all licensing reports that may be unavailable online. |
